Greylock is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace across our entire organization. As the face of financial inclusion, Greylock recognizes that inclusion is an act and we are committed to behaviors, practices, and values that build an inclusive culture. Greylock’s inclusive journey began in 2015 after partnering with local non-profit Multicultural Bridge to build a roadmap for inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA).

We believe that true financial inclusion and empowerment is a fundamental right. We dedicate ourselves to closing the gaps and removing barriers to financial opportunities for underserved communities. We understand that any change, any improvements, need to start with us. Our IDEA principles support Greylock’s vision and goals of building a diverse workforce – reflecting multiple identities – and supporting the diverse communities we serve. We strive to ensure that the spaces in which we work and community members we engage are inclusive. The work includes training, product development, partnerships, education and community investments. Knowing that systemic change takes time, we have invested in a multi-year set of initiatives across our organization and across the communities we serve, but know the work is continuous. We are 100% committed to this vision, which will enable our community to thrive.

Here is some of the work currently being done at Greylock:

Adopted an IDEA policy to hold all employees accountable to our IDEA principles and commitment
Improved recruitment and retention programs to more than double the percentage of minority employees.
Created a Community Development Advisory Committee that includes representatives from the community who are multi-cultural, gender and age diverse, as well as of varied physical abilities to serve as advisors to authentically navigate and impact our diverse communities
Formed an internal Cultural Advisory Committee to advise internal processes, policies, and practices with regular interaction with the Senior Leadership Team
Launched first two Employee Resource Groups
Conducted robust all employee focus group, Voice of the Employee, to assess the current environment and sentiment of all Greylock Federal Credit Union and authentically develop next steps for goal setting and action planning

Commissioned Redlining Report to address systemic inequities affecting local communities of color and created tailored loan program to increase access to home ownership and start to close the racial wealth gap.
Managers engage in regular and intensive anti-bias and IDEA training
All of Greylock’s community investments support actions that ensure inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility
Adopted a Greylock community code of conduct to maintain a workplace free from unacceptable conduct by anyone and create the best experience for our entire Greylock community.
